Founders Day Kickoff Reception
The 175th Anniversary committee is excited to announce that the first function of the Founder’s Day Celebration will be held on Thursday, June 30th, 2011 at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield, IL.
This event is sponsored by the Mt. Pulaski 175th Jubilee Committee. A world class museum opened in the spring of 2005, this museum offers a unique experience in learning about Abraham Lincoln and his life that took him from the prairies of Illinois to the White House. Historic artifacts mixed with state-of-the-art exhibits and a private reception for our community offers a perfect venue to celebrate our history and founding.
The reception will take place from 6:30 to 10:00 at the Museum, which is located in downtown Springfield at 212 North Sixth Street. Reservations are $35.00 and beginning January 3rd can be purchased at the following locations, Salt Creek Attic, The Farmers Bank and at the Illinois National Bank or by calling 217-792-5117. Reservations will include admittance to the museum, complimentary drinks and hors dourves. There are a limited number of reservations available. The entire museum will be open during the reception, including both theaters and the special exhibit 'Team Of Rivals'. At 9:00pm, 'The Distinguished Citizens and Alumni Award will be presented to our honorees in the rotunda of the museum. We are limited to 450 persons and are certain that reservations will go quickly.
